Child No. 9, STEPHEN THOMPSON NEILL. born 1796, died 1861 in Lafayette County, Mo. Married Mary Dalton Fulkerson, son of John Fulkerson and Jeancy Hughes. John Fulkerson was a brother of Isaac Fulkerson, who married Stephen's sister Rebecca Neill. Jeancy Hughes was the daughter of Col. Archaleus Hughes of (now) Patrick County, Va. and his wife, Mary Dalton Hughes, who was a daughter of Samuel Dalton of Mayo (N.C.) and his wife, Anne Dandridge Redd.(Samuel Dalton died at age 103 when he fell off his horse, or so the family story does,) Stephen Thompson Neill served in both Va. and Mo. Legislatures and was a candidate for Mo. state treasurer at the time of his death in Lexington, Mo..
