    "may be a clerical error of Oliver for Thomas". Note, however, that there is no other reference to Silas in this family, so this appears to be simply assumption based on the birth location. The son of Thomas, Thomas Strictland Calkins, is said to have named his children after many of his brothers and sisters, but has no Silas.
    If Silas was in this family, his birth was 13 months after Lovina, and only 10 months before Daniel. This seems unlikely.
