Per grandson, R. W. S., Seymour invested in stock of the Tuscara Rubber a nd Tire Co., which went bankrupt. He and many others lost everything. S ee "The Chronicler" Vol. XII, No. 2, Spring 1999 (journal of the Tuscaraw as Co., Ohio, Historical Society).

Probate records indicate Seymour owned 9 shares of Defiance Machine Wor ks and 4 shares of the Ralston Steel Car Co.

Seymour also over-extended by buying a neighboring farm, which had to be l ater sold.
