Died at her residence on Jefferson St. in Madison, IN. Burial on 25th at Springdale Cem. Burial Permit dated Jun 26, 1886. Undertaker was C.Vail. Original sent to Ross Pake

    Madison Herald, Friday evening June 25, 1886, p.4 Col 2: DEATH OF AN OLD CITIZEN -
    Mrs. Sarah McIntyre died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs.Mantz, on Jefferson street, near First street, at 6.30 o'clock last evening of old age and general ability(sic). Deceased was born in Cornwall, Canada, October 12th, 1797, and was therefore 88yrs, 8mo, 12days old. She came to this city in the year 1818, being one of the old settlers of Madison. She was the mother of eight children, 4 boys & 4 girls, four of whom are yet living. Daniel McIntire, Solmon McIntire, James McIntire, and Mrs. Mantz. She was a kind and loving Christian lady and loving mother. During the several years that she was confined to her bed she bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude. She was kind and generous to a fault, and she has gone to meet her friends, gone before and receive her reward in Heaven. The family has the sympathy of many friends in their sad hours of bereavement. The funeral took place from the residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock, and the remains were followed to their last resting place, in Springdale cemetery by a large concorse of friends
