Obituary from The Ellenville Journal, June 15, 1972

Mrs. Barber Irwin Services will be held Friday for Mrs. Sarah J. Irwin of Napanoch, who died June 13 at Kingston. The daughter of Joseph and Clara Black Hanstine, whe was born in Hancock on June 15, 1883. She married the late Barber Irwin in Hancock April 2, 1902. She was a member of the Ellenville United Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Eva Porter of Napanoch, Mrs. Ada Adams of Ellenville, and Mrs. Violet Miller of Hamden; three sons, Joseph and Francis of Napanoch and Virgil of Sidney Center; one brother, William Hanstine; 22 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Donald Bury Funeral Home in Ellenville, with the Rev. Frank Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be in the Rural Cemetery in Grahamsville. The bearers will be Edward Porter, Richard Misner, Robert Irwin, Dennis Irwin, Gary Miller and William Hanstine.
