  2. Although this 1704 date is bandied all about the Internet, it is not found in Marshfield records, nor does searching turn up any basis for it. Since Mary is the Chapman sibling born just prior to Sarah, and since Mary's spouse, William Throop d. 4 Dec 1704, it is too easy to believe somebody misinterpreted something as Sarah's death date that was meant to be that of William Throop. Further, a deed dated 1695 (MD, p. 49:48) shows son William Norcutt selling land that he received as a heir to his father and mother, which likely indicates Sarah died very soon after her husband.
