Town Clerk of Rutland; Rep. in Assembly, and Chief Judge of County Court at his death. He died of injuries in a logging accident at his farm in Plymouth. cf. Rutland Herald. 10 Mar 1800. One of the few families who did not flee south after battle of Hubbardton. Hon.Samuel & Polly lived in Rutland on east side of S.Main near Cold River Rd intersection.
