    "Samuel (Stanley), b 22 Mar 1703 (Waterbury Vital Records), d 1693; m (1) 22 Sep 1727 Amy Bronson; m (2) 1766 Prudence, wid. Pomeroy."

    The genealogical appendix to the Waterbury history says that Samuel Standly, Jr. married Ame Bronson and widow Prudence Pomeroy as indicated above, but does not state that Samuel, Jr. was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Bronson) Stanley. Jacobus appears to have used that record as his authority for this statement. The sketch of Samuel Stanley (b. 1703) in the Stanley genealogy, the record of the marriage in the Farmington vital records, and the 1769 probate record appear to confirm that this Samuel Stanley did marry (1) Ann Brace/Bracy of Hartford and (2) widow Lois (Gaylord) Abernathy of Farmington.
