    A transcription of his will:

    This is the last Will and Testament of Samuel Powell of Welsh Pool, Currier.

    I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Samuel Powell my late Brother Matthew's son all my part of the Premises that my Brother Thomas and myself purchased of the Executors of the late Thomas Howell (Writer of this Town) consisting of a House and Garden occupyed at this time by Ellis Jones and a Garden occupyed by myself and brother I give the said premises to my aforesaid Nephew to him and his Heirs for ever I also give unto the aforesaid Samuel Powell all my share of Curriers Tools that may be in our Workshop or elsewhere at the time of my Decease --- I also give the aforesaid Samuel Powell my Wardrobe I give and bequeath to my Sister Elizabeth Powell spinster all that Tenement and the land belonging to it situated in the Parish of Miefod dureing her Life and as soon as convenient after my Sisters Decease it's my Will that the aforesaid Tenement and the land (about two acres) be sold and the Purchase money be equally Divided between my brother Henry's son Henry and my brother William's two Sons James and William share and share alike --- I give and bequeath to my brother Henry's three daughters ten Pounds each -- I give unto my brother William's two Daughters ten pounds each and request my Executors to pay the ten Pound each to my Nieces in twelve Months after my Decease --- I give and bequeath to my aforesaid Sister Elizabeth Powell all the money that may be owing to me from Francis Syer of this Town at my Decease and its my Will that my aforesaid sister so pay to my Aunt Mary Breeze the sum of two shillings and sixpence a Week out of the aforesaid Legacy's dureing her Life - I give and bequeath to my surviving Brothers and Sister and Nephew namely Thomas Powell Henry Powell, William Powell, Elizabeth Powell and my Nephew Samuel Powell all the residue of my Personal Property and Effects of what nature or quality soever (subject to the payment of my Just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences) share and share alike to take as tenants in common and not as Joint Tenants I Do hereby Nominate and appoint my two Brothers Thomas Powell and William Powell and my Nephew Samuel Powell Executors of this my Will and I do hereby revoke all other Will or Wills heretofore made by me and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament in Witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this first day of May 1843
