Lot 71 - Samuel McBride from Sheriff Joseph Burnett, June 29, 1805, property of John Edwards, to Owen Edwards on Apr. 7, 1806. Samuel W. McBride, b. 1766-1784 (s/b 1766-1776), son of Francis McBride, Sr., m. Apr 9, 1796 in Davidson County, Elizabeth Howell, who d. before Dec. 1807, the daughter of John & Sarah Gwinn Howell. Samuel McBride signed the petition to form Rutherford Co. in 1803 and was appointed the County's first Sheriff Jan. 2, 1804. He received a Rutherford Co. militia commission of 2nd Major on July 31, 1807. He seems to have left the county by 1810.
