Samuel was born at the Kline Homestead in Richmond Township.He was rearedand educated in the local school of Richmond Township. He worked on thefamily farm in his youth and he remained a farmer most of his life. Hedid serve in the Civl War in the Union Army. During the later years ofhis life he drew a pension for his service. He engaged later in his lifein the quarrying and burning of limestone in which he was quitesuccessful. His plant was located near Calcium in Maidencreek Township,Berks Co., Pennsylvania.

    He and his wife were members of the Blandon Union Church of theLutheran Denomination. The foregoing information is taken fromMongomery's History of Berks County.

From Morton L. Montgomery's History of Berks Co: Samuel B. Kline of Maidencreek Twp. is engaged in quarrying and limeburning near Calcium and was born at old Kline homestead in Richmond Twp.on Dec. 28, 1853, son of John K. and Catharine Burkert Kline.

Samuel B. Kline's plant is in Maidencreek Twp. near Calcium. On March 1,1884 he married Amanda Louise Adams, daughter of Benneville and Lovina(Gruber) Adams. They had 1 child, Bessie Geneva, deceased. Mr. Klineattends Blandon Union Church being of the Lutheran faith.
