He served from 7 June to 15 Nov. 1758 in the 1st Company (Col. Phinehas Lyman), 1st Regiment; Drummer, 2 Apr. to 15 Dec. 1759, in the same company, French and Indian War. He served nine days as Drummer of a Suffield company at the Lexington Alarm, 1775. He was appointed Ensign of the 1st Company in Suffield, 1st Conn. Regiment, May 1778; and Captain of the 3d Company, 1st Regiment, May 1787.
He was listed at Suffield in the 1790 Census, his family consisting of three males over 16 years (including himself), four males under 16, and two females.
He served as Deputy for Suffield in the Conn. General Assembly at the sessions of Oct. 1791, May and Oct. 1792, May and Oct. 1793, May and Oct. 1794, May and Oct. 1795, May and Oct. 1796, May and Oct. 1797, and May and Oct. 1798."
