    "5. Samuel3 Hale (Gershom,2 John1), born perhaps about 1695, died, probably at West Haven, Conn., after 2 Feb. 1752; married at New Haven, Conn., 29 June 1720, Judith Hodge, born at New Haven, 6 Oct. 1697, died probably before 1747, daughter of Thomas and Judith (Bunnell) Hodge. At his marriage in 1720 the record calls him 'Samuel Hail of Milford or a resident therein.' After marriage he lived in the West Haven section of New Haven adjacent to Milford. … On 2 Feb. 1752, he sold for £40 to Israel Kimberly, half my house and lot 'where I live,' also use of the whole during my natural life, being ¾ of an acre in West Haven bounded west and north on Timothy Candee."
