Samuel Drinkwater 6 yo first appears in the 1870 census living at the Orphan's Home at Marion, Centre, Pennsylvania. His mother, Mary 49 yo also lived there and worked as a housekeeper.
Samuel was transferred to White Hall Orphans School from Jacksonville Orphans School 4 Feb 1870. He was transferred from White Hall to Chester Springs Orphan School 1 Sept 1872.
In 1880, Samuel lives with this older brother, Edward and his wife, Tamson, sons Joseph 8 yo and William 11 mos. Their residence is in Harrisburg, Dauphin, Pennsylvania. Samuel works at the "nail works".
In the Williamsport Directories 1889-92, Samuel H. G. Drinkwater lists his occupation as nailer (1890).
By 1900, Samuel is married to Clarence (?) for 13 years and has two daughters, Ruth 8 yo and Helen 4 yo.
Samuel appears in the 1910 census with his family living in South Williamsport Ward 2, Lycoming, Pennsylvania. His family remains stable at 2 daughters.
1920 census, Samuel and Clara have one daughter left at home, Helen 24 who is divorced and a granddaughter, Clara Louise Blackwell 2 yo.
1930 Census Samuel and Clara live alone in South Williamsport, Lycoming, Pennsylvania.

They will be conducted at 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home at 295 Main St., South Williamsport. The Rev. E. Raymond Shaheen, pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery".
