    "Samuel Barrett, the son of Jonas and Urania (Locke) Barrett, was born at Ashby, Ms, Mar. 27, 1798, and died at Alton, Illi. July 19, 1833, AE. 35. He studied medicine with Dr Josiah Haskell of Ashby; then went to Virginia, either teaching or else practising his profession; soon removed to Georgia and there lived the physician until 1832, when Alton became his residence."
