2:426. - Looking at the records of Newbury, there are two Ruth Rogers who are about the expected age to marry in 1741. One is Ruth, d/o Robert Rogers and Elizabeth Davis, b. 1715. Another is Ruth, d/o Thomas Rogers and Hannah Long, b. 1717. These are both first cousins of this John, their fathers being the old brothers of John's father John. The Newbury records also say, explicitly, that Ruth Rogers, d/o Robert and Elizabeth, m. 1761 Obadiah Johnson, therefore this is probably the daughter of Thomas Rogers and Hannah Long. Unless it is a widow, or a Ruth Rogers from out of town... There is no obvious widow Ruth Rogers, and even widening the search to the americanancestors.org database, there is only one other candidate in Plymouth and she married a Samuel Morton.
