Interesting... I have an Israel Post, born about 1766, probably in Dutchess Co. NY; living Clinton Twp., Dutchess Co. in 1790; married Martha Baker (b.1767 Hempstead, Nassau Co., NY); moved to Washington Co. NY where some children were born; moved on to Saratoga Co. about 1812, died there after 1855. Probably 12 total children (including a son Abraham, born about 1807), all lived in and near Saratoga Co. Have had a hard time trying to find Israel's parents, but Martha's father died 1806 Nassau Co., and mother died in Dutchess Co. Martha had a brother, James Jr., who married Ruth Post -- I don't know, but probably a sister to Israel. She was born 1778 and married 1795 in Dutchess Co.

Your Abraham could be a younger brother, disaffected with the family for some reason. Good luck... Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
