Rose Downes was baptised on 5th Feburary 1819 at Barnack in Northamptonshire, daughter of a shepherd named Thomas Downes and his wife Rose Newborn. Rose had a twin sister, Mary. Their mother, Rose, had also been one of twins called Mary and Rose. In 1839, aged 20, Rose had a son whom she named Newborn Downes. Sadly he died as a baby, being buried less than a month after his baptism.

Rose has yet to be traced after 1839.
