↑ Listed as "Lord Clavering" in 'The Magna Charta Sureties, 1215', 5th ed. p. 70 line 49A:7, to which title he would have succeeded through his father and paternal grandmother, however, in 'The Complete Peerage', vol. 3 p. 276, the following is recorded concerning his grandmother holding the title, "No right to any Barony of Clavering or FitzRoger appears to have been considered as vesting in this lady"
