Robert Tedford and his wife Phoebe came to Blount County in the very early days and are buried in the New Providence Churchyard with other members of their family. The inscriptions are as follows:
Robert Tedford, born February 10th, 1799; died February 19, 1859.
Phoebe M. Tedford, born June 11, 1800; died July 4, 1888.
Joseph T. Tedford, born March 26th, 1846; died July 15, 1868.
John N. Tedford, born May 15th, 1840; died May 6, 1859.
Kate Bond Tedford, born January 13, 1836; died March 2, 1877.
John N. Tedford, born February 7, 1803; died March 16, 1869.
The Tedfords came from Augusta and Rockbridge Counties, Virginia & lived neighbors in that part of Virginia to the family of Dr. Isaac Anderson and also to the McCroskey family.
