When Robert married Phoebe the Friends declared them married out of unity until he became a member in 1749. They were restored to the Fairfax Monthly Meeting in Loudon County. In 1751 the family moved to Council, Bladen Co., NC and were removed to the Carvers Creek Monthly Meeting, (now in New Hanover County). They were removed to Cane Creek M.M. in Orange Co. in July of 1751, and finally to the New Garden M.M. in Guilford Co. in 1754.
