Robert M. Steele, 76, of Owego, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2006. Bob was predeceased by three brothers, Charles "Chic", Roy and Ted Steele; sister, Margaret. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Steele; two sons, Dannie Steele, Elmira, Ken Steele and Jessica Spiegel, Nichols; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Camp, High Point, N.C.; four grandchildren, Matthew, Patrick, Corey, Corinne; two brothers and sister-in-law, Jack Steele, Paul and Dorothy Steele; two sisters, Louise Harris, Dorothy Steele; three sisters-in-law, Catherine Steele, Jeanne Steele and Martha Steele; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Steele was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from NYSEG after 44 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #401, VFW Post #1371, and Owego Hose Co. #4.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, with the Rev. William Moorby officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert M. Steele's memory to Nancy Quattrini Patient Fund, C/O Guthrie Clinic, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, Pa. 18840.
