Two notes found on a family tree on Ancestry
1. In 1731, at the age of 14, "Oxlade, Robert, a poor child of the Parish of West Wycombe, [was] indentured by the Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor unto William Bradford, Blacksmith, for seven years to learn the Art or Trade of a Blacksmith."
2. In 1733, at the age of 16, [Richard Oxlade] was apprenticed to Henry Shank, a Tailor, [possibly his maternal grandfather].
