He was disowned at Menallen 5/17/1820 for joining another religion, page 103 Menallen Minutes. Robert went to Bedford County, Pennsylvania. From the Records of J. Warren Mickle, 3615 Rutherford St., Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, revised by: Robert L. Cable, 689 Wyndamere Road, Lewisberry, Pennsylvania 17339. Robert Mickle moved from Adams County to Bedford County about 1834. He located on the Lucas place near the Riseling "Fulling Mill," near Spring Hope and then moved to the "Wine" Miller property near Helixville, then Millertown, where he resided at the time of his death. Robert Mickle was one of the first teachers of the free schools in this part of the county. His widow, Jane Gorley Mickle, then lived with various relatives and older children. While living with her daughter, Mary, she fell on the attic stairs and injured her head so badly she died in a few days. Both are buried in the Schellsburg Cemetery but the burial site is unknown.
