    June 24th, in the morning, one of the inhabitants of Rehoboth was fired upon by a party of Indians and the hilt of his sword shot off. The same day in the afternoon, being a fast, as Swanzey people were coming from public worship, the Indians attacked them, killed one and wounded others, and killed two men who were going for a surgeon, beset a house in another part of the town and there murdered six more.
