[edit] About Robert HermannsRobert Paul "Bob" Hermanns was born 18 November 1843 in Joliet, Will County, Illinois, the son of Francis Bernard Hermanns (1911-1991) and his wife Mary Kathryn Tierney (1914-1990). Robert worked in several executive positions in the Food Industry for over 50 years with many leading firms including Jewel Food Stores and Topco in Chicago, Metro Gross Markets in Dusseldorf, Germany, Weis Markets in Pennsylvania, Red Owl Stores in Minnesota, Lucky Stores in both Northern and Southern California, American Stores in Salt Lake City, Associated Grocers in Seattle, and Park City Group in Park City, Utah. In 2009, Robert was named Director of the Food Industry Management Program at the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business.Bob earned his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University and his Masters of Business Administration degree from the Food Industry Management Program at U.S.C. in 1967. Hermanns also served on the board of directors of the Western Association of Food Chains during his years with Lucky Stores and Associated Grocers. Hermanns was a highly respected executive during his career in the Food Industry, and his leadership was an inspiration to all that knew him.
