    R. E. L. Gonzales, aged 67 years, 7 months and 25 days died at his home in Sorrento, La., on December 4, 1934 at 7:45 p.m. It is said that Mr. Gonzales retired to his room as usual and that shortly afterwards a noise was heard in the room. Upon entering the room his wife called him, but no answer. He had dropped dead from heart failure. Mr. Gonzales was well known in the St. Amant community and had a host of friends there and in the parish. He is a brother of Mayor Joseph Gonzales of this town. Funeral services were conducted at Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, Lake, La., Rev. Father A. M. Domsdorf officiating. Interment was in the Lake cemetery on Wednesday evening, December 5, 1934 at 4 o'clock. Deceased is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Felicia Savoie, and one son, Rudolph Gonzales of Lake; also two brothers, Sims Gonzales of St. Amant and Mayor Joseph Gonzales of Gonzales, and one sister, Mrs. Andrew Little of French Settlement.
