1. Robert Hiram Daugherty, Sr. was born C1805 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. He appeared on the 1830 Lincoln County, Kentucky Census as having in his household: 000100-00010011 which equates to 1 male age 20-30; 1 female age 30-40; 1 female age 60-70; and 1 female 70-80. He married a Nancy Cifford or Clifford (the author of this document has chosen to use the surname Clifford because that is the way Nancy's name is spelled on the Lincoln County, Kentucky marriage records) on 27 November, 1834 at Stanford, Lincoln County, Kentucky, his 1st wife. He again appeared on the 1840 Lincoln County, Kentucky census.

   His 2nd wife was a Miss Mary S. "Polly" MaGill, daughter of John MaGill attorney and Nancy nee Henderson MaGill, who he married on 29 January, 1843 at Wayne County, Kentucky.  Robert's 3rd wife was Agnes Warren, daughter of John Warren and Sally (?nee) Warren who he married on 3 July, 1849 at Lincoln County, Kentucky.

On the 13 August, 1850 Census District 2 Index of Lincoln County, Kentucky he was listed as Hiram Daugherty, 43, farmer, $200, born in Kentucky: wife was listed as Agnes, 28, born in Kentucky: daughter Susan, age 14; daughter Nancy, age 13; daughter Sally, age 10; son John, age 8; son James, age 6; daughter Louisa, age 4; daughter Elizabeth, age 2; and daughter Martha, age 2 months. Robert's next door neighbor was a John Warren age 49 born in Virginia and family plus a William Daugherty, age 19 wagon maker. On the other side of Hiram was Alice Adams, age 78, $5000, born in Virginia with Ann, May, Mary, and John Shackelford, ages 28, 22, 57, 10; and Emily Turner 26 all born in Kentucky.

4. Robert Hiram Daugherty bought land from William H. MaGill in Burnet County, Texas near the beginning of the Shady Grove Road on which he and his family built a two storied limestone house with basement and two double fireplaces, front and back porches; the property stayed in the family until 1909 when John Clements bought it in January 1856 at Burnet County, Texas. Robert Hiram Daugherty appeared on the 1860 Census Index at Burnet County, Texas line #298, age 55, wagon maker, born in Kentucky. With him on the Census were Agnes age 40; Sally M. age 20; John age 17; James K. age 15; Mary L. age 14; Elizabeth age 13; Robert H. age 9; Martha F. age 10; Eliza A. age 7; Darcas Age 4 born in Texas and William age 1 month born in Texas.

Robert Hiram petitioned the court to be appointed as guardian of his daughters Sally and Louisa M. in the matter of their inheritance from their Aunt Sally MaGill in Lincoln County, Kentucky on 30 January, 1860 at Burnet County, Texas. He appeared on the census of 1870 at Burnet County, Texas (appeared as DAUGHERTY, Hiram, age 64, wagon maker, born in Kentucky and again his family appears as: Agnes age 40 keeps house; Robert age 17 works farm; Eliza age 16 at home; Dorcas age 14 works farm Texas; and Harriet age 7. Also appearing on the Census Index was next door daughter Frances Lashbrooks age 20, keeps house, born in Kentucky. Tobert died circa 1896 at Burnet County, Texas. Many of these Daugherty's moved to Lincoln CO.KY. from VA.in late 1700's there they multiplied and spread out west ,many stayed in Lincoln CO. KY. Then in 1855 Robert Hiram and Agnes and all his kids moved to Texas.Settling in Burnet ,then Williamson Co Texas.
