    FREEMAN: 3 September 1634 (as "Rob[er]te Abbitt," ninth in a sequence of eleven Watertown men) (MBCR 1:369]. On 6 August 1642 "Brother Abbott … received the charge of freeman" at New Haven [NHCR 1:76; see also NHCR 1:10,138].
