  2. 2.0 2.1 Source:Thayer, Bezaleel. Memorial of the Thayer Name, from the Massachusetts Colony of Weymouth and Braintree, Embracing Genealogical and Biographical, p. 140, does not even list a son Richard in this family, but he is mentioned in the will of his father in 1728, listed before Gideon. There is no mention of Richard in the settlement in 1739 so he apparently died before then with no heirs. Although there is no obvious spot for his birth in the sibling births before Gideon's birth in 1700, most of the dates are estimates and we can't rule out twins.
