Memorial of the Thayer Name, from the Massachusetts Colony of Weymouth and Braintree, Embracing Genealogical and Biographical, p. 140, gives the birth date as 1704, probably an estimate based on the date of marriage, but his father's probate shows he was older than Gideon and the 2nd oldest son surviving in 1738 (only Cornelius older).
