My great-great-grandfather Richard Staniland lived in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, from around 1836 having a fishmongers shop in Church Street and in 1841 Census he appears as a Huckster (General Storekeeper) in West Gate. In the 1851 Census he is still at the same address as a Fruiterer.
He married Susannah Ball aty All Saints' Church, Derby on 23rd May 1836.
So far I have found five children George, Ann(ie), John (my Great-grandfather), Elizabeth and Richard.
To date I cannot trace his parents or date/place of birth since although he claims to have been born in Chesterfield he does not appear in church records.
