- 30 May 1734, Charles Anderson (with Josiah Jones and Richard Paulson/Polson) had Robert Brooke survey a tract of land containing 834 acres from Shepherd’s Island in the Potomac River, across Jones Mill Run (present-day Rockymarsh run) to present-day Potomac River Dam #4, north of Scrabble, Berkeley County, West Virginia. Anderson had been replaced by Joseph Mounts by the time the patent was issued on 3 October 1734. (Pioneers of Old Frederick, p. 42)
