    KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I WHARTON RANSDELL of the County of WESTMORELAND gent: have for the Natural love and affection I have for my dutiful Sons WHARTON RANSDELL and WILLIAM RANSDELL give unto them as followeth First reserving to myself the use of One hundred acres of land in Prince William County on BUTTONS BRANCH during my life and afterwards to my two Sons herebefore mentioned & their heirs forever, And then I give part of a tract of land to my Son WILLIAM RANSDELL which I purchased of Capt. THOMAS BARBER on and near CEDAR RUN in Prince William County containing Three hundred and fifty acres bounded beginning at a Corner of the said Land near MR. SCOITs Quarter and from t.hence along the division line between t.his land and the land of Mr. FRANCIS THORNTONto where it crosses BlmONS BRANCH to a white Oak at the mouth of it near CEDARRUN thence down a line of marked trees crossing the points near the Low growns of the said Run to a white Oak on a point thence crossing the Low growns and Run to a white Oak at t.he mouth of BARBERS BRANCH thence along a line of marked trees up the said Branch to the line of RICHARD GRUBBS then along said GRUBS line to a red Oak on the top of a hill thence down a line of marked t.rees to a Beach on CEDAR RUN in the line of MR. SCOIT thence up the said Run to the first beginning To Have and To Hold the said land to my said Son WILLIAM RANSDELL his heirs and assigns forever. Next to my Son WHARTON RANSDELL I give four hundred &. Twenty acres of land being the part of that parcel of land I purchased of Capt. THOMAS BARBER on and near CEDAR RUN abovesd the rest of which I have given to my Son WILLIAM RANSDELL abovesd. To Have and To Hold the said land to him my said Son WHARTON RANSDELL his heirs and assigns fored , In Confirmation I have set my hand and seale this Fifth day of April 1749
