1875: (email from Richard Green): "I have obtained a copy of the marriage certificate of Richard Davie to Ann Hawkings. It took place at St Mary Arches Church in Exeter, 2nd November 1875. He is of full age and a widower. More importantly, his father is said to be the late William Davie, a mason. Ann Hawkings was a widow, and her fathers name was Elias Milton, a deceased labourer. I presume Hawkings was her previous married name. Richard and Ann both made their mark."

1900: His 8 October 1900 death certificate lists him as 100 year old "Retired Builder and Mason", of "Natural Decay", as witnessed by " ? ? Reynolds, Step Son, of 13 Northumberland Rd, Bayswater, London"
