Richard Cresey or Creasey's origins have yet to be established. His first confirmed sighting is on 17th February 1708 when he was married at Grantham in Lincolnshire to Ann Ingram, a miller's daughter. She lived at nearby Londonthorpe at the time of their marriage. No evidence of Richard and Ann having any children has yet been found. Ann was still alive in 1716 when she was named in her father's will, but it has yet to be established when she died. Richard appears to have died in 1745, being buried at Belton by Grantham on 5th April 1745. Immediately before his death he had been living at Londonthorpe.
