According to an Obituary found in the Fort Wayne Newspaper, Mrs. Rebecca Stewart, aged seventy-nine years, widow of Charles Stewart, died Saturday morning at 2:10 o'clock of the infirmities of old age at the home of her daughter, Miss Henrietta Stewart, 1136 Wabash Ave. Mrs. Stewert was born Sept. 16,1827 at Mt. Vernon, Knox Co Ohio. The husband died eleven years ago. She had been a resident of Fort Wayne since 1862. For the past two years she had been confined to her bed by illness. She leaves four children, two sons, Charles and Joseph Stewart, and two daughters, Mrs. Herman Brake and Miss Henrietta Stewart, all of whom reside in Fort Wayne. There are surviving twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral services will be held Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the residence, 1136 Wabash Ave. and a 9 o'clock from the Cathedral, the Rev. Father Sullivan officiating.
