My files include a photocopy of an old news item (source & date unknown) -- a poem with the headline: "Committed to Memory by Rebecca Rowles when She was Seven years old, at Poughkeepsie, N.Y." This is good evidence that she was born there -- or, at least, moved there at a very early age. It also means that she did not leave Dutchess County until 1805 or later. --MikeTalk 14:10, 31 August 2010 (EDT)
