Obituary

Raymond McKinney, 93, 430 Huffman St., St. Marys, died at 12:16 a.m. Jan. 1, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

He was born Dec. 19, 1911, in Spencerville, to Thomas and Dora Detrick McKinney. On Dec. 29, 1940, he married Gladys Coil who died April 2, 1996.

Surviving are a son, Victor (Leslie) of St. Marys; a daughter, Janet (James) White, St. Marys; a sister, Marguerite Apgar, St. Marys; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a daughter, Joan, and two brothers, Paul and Cecil

He retired from Standard Oil Refinery in Lima where he had worked 23 years as a stationary steam engineer. He was a member of Ross Church of the Brethren near Mendon, the refinery's Quarter Century Club and the Camp Rosalie Ramblers, a graduate of Spencerville High School and an Ohio Army National Guard veteran.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Glenn Masser officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens near St. Marys. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Contributions can be made to the church.
