Ransom had 9 brothers and 1 sister per Bill Ault, 12/01. Ransom and Sophia lived in the second house, headed West from the Aroma church, on the North side of the road. "In a later interview, 11/2003, Billy recalled that Ransom and his brothers participated in the Kansas land rush when that territory was opened up to settlement.

Ransom is memorialized on a stained glass window in the Aroma Methodist (Methodist Episcopal) church per Carolyn Johnson's interview with Wilbert Cox. "Now we come to the large window on the north, donated by Ransom Ault. He was the Village Blacksmith with a, "very ruddy faced, handsome man with snow white hair that layed in perfect waves. His wife Sofie Ault was mother of Edward Ault, who owned the grocery store. His grandson is Bill Ault, and his great grandchildren are Jeff and Judy (Ault) Floyd, and his great-great grandchildren are Angie and Christie Floyd. Bill loaned me the first picture taken of the little frame church, which I had copied, enlarged and framed. It hangs in the back, north S.S. room. It is faded , but worth keeping."

RANSON AULT PASSED AWAY AT AROMA HOME-

Ranson(m) S. Ault, 81, of Aroma, died last night at 10:30 o'clock at his home after an illness of about two years. Mr. Ault was well known in the Aroma neighborhood, having been a blacksmith there for several years. Mr. Ault was born in Hamilton county, Indiana, December 18, 1849. He was the son of William and Martha Ault and was married to Sophia Sharp, February 15, 1872, who with their two children: Charles Ault of Shreveport, La and Edward Ault of Aroma, survive. He also leaves: two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Jesse Ault of Kansas; James Ault of Elwood and Isom Ault of Aroma. Mr. and Mrs. Ault removed to the Aroma neighborhood in 1891, where they have lived ever since. Mr. Ault was a member of the M.E. church in Aroma and has a large host of friends whose hearts will be saddened to learn of the death of this good man. The body was brought to the Clark morgue in this city, where it was prepared for burial. It will be taken to the Ault homein Aroma this evening. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon in the M.E. church in Aroma by Rev. U.S. Hartley of Redkey, assisted by Rev. Charles Brunner, pastor of the M.E. church at Aroma.
