He was a local football star and sought out by local factories who had company teams at that time. Ed had a dibilitating car accident October 1st, 1919. The family moved to Aroma, IN shortly thereafter. He never regained use of his legs. ED AULT, 73, SUCCUMBS TODAY; FUNERAL THURSDAY- Ed Ault, 73, Aroma, died at 8:30 o'clock this morning at Mercy hospital. Mr. Ault had been an invalid the last 34 years, following injuries received in 1919. Born in Hamilton county Sept. 21, 1879, he was the son of Ransom and Sophia Ault. . He was married to Mabel Curry. He was a member of the Aroma Methodist church and owned the grocery in Aroma for many years. He retired a few years ago. Survivors include: the widow; a son, William of Aroma; three grandchildren and a brother, Charles Ault of Shreveport, La. The body is at Copher and Fesler funeral home where friends may call. Tentative funeral plans have been made for Friday afternoon. They will be held in the Methodist church in Aroma with burial to be made in the Aroma cemetery.
