Ralph Eure, Knt., of Foulbridge (in Brompton), Yorkshire, deputy Constable of Scarborough Castle, 1531-7, Justice of the Peace for Yorkshire (East Riding), 1536-45, Burgess (M.P.) for Scarborough, 1542, Keeper of Redesdale and Tyndale, ?1542-1545, deputy Warden of the Middle Marches by Aug. 1543, Warden of the Middle Marches, 1544-5, son and heir apparent, born about 1510. He married before 1529 Margery Bowes... They had three sons, Wililam [2nd Lord Eure], Ralph, Thomas, and two daughters, Frances (wife of Robert Lambton) and Anne. Sir Ralph Eure was slain at the Battle of Ancrum Moor 6 March 1544/5.
