He came to Wenatchee, Washington from Cantrell, Iowa with his parentsand sister, Evaline, in 1901, where his family homesteaded at the OldsStation area. He attended schools in Wenatchee, and served in theU.S. Army during World War I.

He was employed in orchards for several years, and for many years wasa salesman in the Wenatchee Area.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Wenatchee, a life memberof the Wenatchee Lodge No. 1186, Wenatchee Post 10, American Legion,and the Heritage Club.
