    Preseley Bridwell Will

    Book A Page 297

In the name of God amen. I, Preseley Bridwell of Spencer County and State
of Kentucky, being weak in body but in perfect mind and memory do make and
ordain this my last will and testament. First of all, I do recommend when it
shall please God to remove me from this earth, my body to the dust of the earth
from where it was taken, and my soul to God who gave it, and as touching
worldly affairs do leave my estate, both real and personal, in the following
manner, to wit, it is my will that my executors hereafter to be named pay all
of my just debts and funeral expenses out of my estate. It is my will that my
youngest son Barnet have the plantation wherein I live containing 108 acres,
reserving for his use that part of it whereon my father and mother live during
their lives. It is my will that my son Stephen Bridwell have the 60 acres of
land whereon he now lives. It is my will that my son Coleman Bridwell have the
plantation whereon he now lives containing 160 acres. It is my will that my
daughter Peggy have one negroe girl named Lawry, about five years old, and also
five hundred dollars in money. It is my will that my son Presley have five
hundred dollars. It is my will that one negroe boy named George that my father
and mother have use of during their natural lives and be sold and the money to
be equally divided among my lawful heirs at their death. It is my will that all
of the residue of my estate, both real and personal, be sold by my executors
and the money arising from the sale thereof be equally divided amongst all of
my lawful heirs except my daughter Linda; she is to have fifty dollars. Over
and above the rest, it is my will that my son Stephen Bridwell and Stephen
    Beard be my executors.

Dated 6-12-1832, with a notation that he died 10-22-1832.
