    Philip Helferich aged 85 years, the oldest of 300 descendents, is dead at Maquoeta, Ia. He was born in Banns Holland and was a resident of Detroit from 1831 to 1854. He was a brother of William Helferich and Mrs. Elizabeth Webster, of Detroit; Jacob Helferich, of Flint, Mich.; Abraham Helferich, of Trenton, Mich.; Morris Helferich, of McGregor, Ont.; George Helferich, of Washington, Mich. Also father of three daughters and four sons in Iowa. Mrs. S. Pettypiece is a niece. He was here last summer visiting Mrs. Pettypiece. When here he bought a house and lot in Detroit and made two trips to Iowa, the last time carrying the money to pay for the house and lot, in his she. He had intended settling in Detroit, this Spring. He is related by marriage to the Mungers of Harrow."
