    In the Name of God Amen
    I Philip Strong of Warren in Litchfield County being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory and considering my liability to death do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in the following manner my just debts and funeral charges being first paid

    I give to my well beloved wife Rhoda one horse saddle and bridle, two cows and said Rhoda to take her choice out of my horses and cows, fifteen sheep and three swine with all my household furniture as her own property for ever and the use and improvement of the south half of my dwelling house and the improvement of the one half of my barn together with the use and improvement of the one third part of the whole of my home lot with the ---- only to cut wood sufficient for her own fires on any of my unimproved lands so long as she remains my widow and no longer-

    I give to my son Philip Strong Jr. fifteen pounds lawful money to be paid by my executor in money or cattle within one year after my death which with what I have already given him is to be considered as the whole of his Portion

    I give to my son Eben Strong fifteen pounds lawful money to be paid by my executor in money or cattle within one year after my death which with what I have already given him is to be considered as the whole of his Portion

    I give to my son Caverly Strong ten pounds lawful money to be paid by my executor in money or cattle within one year after my death.

    I give to my son Amasa Strong all my farming utensils and also the whole of my livestock, money, notebooks debts, he paying to my son Ezra 100 pounds lawful money or stock also the whole of my debts and legacies mentioned in this will and settling my estate and that he bring up the minor children and give them suitable school and education and support them until they arrive at age, that is to say the sons Twenty one years and the Daughters eighteen - and that he be intestated for this provement and use of the lands given to my son Stephen, Jedediah and Epaphroditus- and also to their Labor and service until they shall arrive to the age of twenty one years - and the said Amasa shall give their lands unto the list and shall pay all rates and taxes that shall arise thereon and keep the farm in good and suitable repair - and when they shall severally arrive to age of twenty one years - and the said Amasa shall give to each of them two good suits of cloaths one suitable for Holy days the other for every day and also two year old colt with a new saddle and bridle and also one yoke of two year old steer and also a chain on condition they shall continue with him till they shall arrive to age - and that he have the use of Lydia land until she arrives at the age of eighteen year and that he put the same into the list and pay all the rates and taxes that arrive thereon---

    And keep the same in good repair and he shall put the whole of the lands given to my daughter Sarah and son John Brownson until they shall arrive to age in the list and pay all the notes that shall arrive thereon

    The above with what I have given him before to to be composed as the whole of his portion

    I give to my son Stephen Strong to be paid by my executor in money or cattle ten pounds lawful money also one colt two years old saddle and bridle also a yoke of two year old steer and also a chain, when he arrives to the age of twenty one years which with what I have before given him is to be considered as the whole of his portion.

    I give to my son Jedediah Strong one two year old colt a new saddle and bridle and also one yoak of two year old steer and also a chain to be paid by my executor when he arrives to the age of twenty one years which with what I have before given him is to be considered as the whole of his Portion

    I give to my son Ezra Strong one hundred pounds lawful money to be paid out of my moveable estate by my executor in money cattle or sheep, fifteen points to be paid within a year from my death, fifteen pounds the year after and the remaining seventy pounds to be aid in three yearly equal payments consecutively this with what I have given him before is to be considered as the whole of his portion

    I give to my son Epaphroditus strong one two year old colt new saddle and bridle also a yoke of two year old steer and a chain to be paid by my executor when he arrives to the age of twenty one years.

    I give to my daughter Rhoda ten pounds lawful money to be paid in money or cattle by my executor within one year from the time of my death.

    I give to my daughters, Lydia and Sarah ten pounds each to be paid in money or cattle at the time each of them shall arrive to the age of eighteen years.

    I appoint my son Eben String guardian to my son Ezra to receive his interest into his care and that he should have the care of his education and schooling.

    I appoint and constitute my beloved Rhoda and my son Amasa executors of this my last Will and Testament. I give --- publish pronounce and declare in presence of --- this 7 th day of September 1787 who in the presence of the testator and in each others presence hereunto have signed our names.

    Further I give to my son John Brownson ten pounds lawful money to be paid by my executor in money or cattle when he arrives to the age of twenty one years.
