Information on Philip Pendleton
From "Seldens of Virginia and allied families", Volume 2, by Mary Selden Kennedy, pg. 180, pub. 1911:
- Philip Pendleton (Henry4, Henry3, George2, George1) was born in 1650, and was twenty-four years of age when he emigrated to Virginia. In 1680 he returned to England, where it is said he married and his wife died. In 1682 he returned to Virginia, and married Isabella Hart, or Hurt. "He is said to have lived in New Kent County, but the parish records of that county, which are very early and very full, do not contain the names of any Pendletons. It is more probable that he lived in King and Queen County. He signed a deed in Essex County in 1677 and his son Henry signed one there in 1719 and is designated as being from King and Queen county." Philip Pendlton died in 1721, the same year as his son, Henry, died, and in that year his grandson, Edmund, was born.

Philip Pendleton emigrated to Virginia in 1674, and visited England in 1680. On his return, he married, in 1682, Isabella Hurt, or Herd, or Hart, who was the mother of his children.
