    . . . Clarence Morris, age 77, of … Route 1, passed away in a Rome hospital at 6:50 o’clock Saturday morning following an illness of six years.
           Born in Floyd County on December 10, 1878, Mr. Morris was the son of the late Ephriam and Sara Drummond Morris. He spent his entire life in the Pleasant Hope and Flint Hill communities, and worked as a farmer and carpenter. Mr. Morris was a member of the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church for 55 years, where he served as a deacon. He was married to the former Belle Viola Mull, who preceded him in death in 1929. He was married on April 9, 1938, to the former Jessie Ross, who survives.
           Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Joe Smith, of Aragon Route 1, and Mrs. J. A. Knowles, of Birmingham, one son, Harry Morris, of Maple Road; one brother, Joe Morris, of Rome Route 6; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
           Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o’clock this afternoon in the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church. Officiating will be the pastor, the Rev. H. E. Rogers, and the Rev. J. W. Barday, pastor of the Flint Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the family lot in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery.
           Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Mull, George Morris, Ernest Mull, Fratus Chafin, Walter Ross and Scott Morris.
           Deacons of the Flint Hill and Pleasant Hope Baptist Churches will serve as honorary pallbearers. KF-in-Georgia
