Bold textPeter McGregor Greenwood was born in Alva, Scotland on April 19, 1916. He was raised with his two sisters Jeanette (7 years Older) and Mary (3 years younger) by their mother Janet. Their Father Robert Greenwood leaving them when they were very young. He was not a tall person and had to fight his way thru school on Main St. in Alva (Rt. A91). After school he worked in the fields to help support the family. Joining the Army with at the start of World War Two he fought in Africa, Italy, France and Germany and stayed in the Army for 20 years. Then working for British Rail for another 20years. Peter Married Jessie Bell Henderson on July 12, 1944 and they had a daughter Sheena Greenwood on July 31,1946 who married Charles Leslie on June 8,1968. They gave Peter two Grandsons Charles and Hamish Leslie. Charles married Wendy Rae on March 22, 1997 and they gave Peter two Great-granddaughters Shirley Anne Leslie (January 27, 1999) and Nadine Charleigh (June 1, 2001). Peter McGregor Greenwood died on February 11,2001
