Obituary:

Paul V. Priddy Jr., 79, of St. Albans passed away June 30, 2005, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul V. Priddy Sr.; mother, Opal Adkins Priddy; and brother, Robert Franklin Priddy.

Paul was a graduate of West Virginia Tech and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Union Carbide where he worked as a mechanical engineer for 36 years. He was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, St. Albans, where he faithfully served his Lord through song in the Chancel Choir, Men's Choir, was a member of the United Methodist Men, was Sunday school superintendent and a member of the Evangelism Ministries.

He was scoutmaster of Cub Scout Pack 146, a mentor at Highlawn Elementary School, an advocate for the Automatic Intracardial Defibrillator (AICD) and visited over 250 patients. He was past Master of Washington Masonic Lodge 58, St. Albans, past Patron of St. Albans Order of the Eastern Star 79 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Grand Choir.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ann Priddy; his children and spouses, Nancy Priddy Mishoe and husband, Wayne Mishoe, Pamela Priddy Stauss and husband, Ervin Stauss, Ken Priddy and wife, Carolyn Priddy, and Timothy Priddy and wife Carmen Priddy; his siblings, twin sister, Polly Priddy Cartmill and husband, Robert Cartmill, and brother, Eugene Priddy and wife, Dianne Priddy; his grandchildren, Jason Mishoe, Kevin Mishoe, Kristen Stauss, Suzanne Stauss, Brandon Priddy, Jennifer Priddy and Stacey and Danielle of Colorado; three stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, St. Albans, with the Rev. Loretta Isaiah, the Rev. Ross Harrison and the Rev. Janet Harman officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
